Then Burger Restaurant Review
Stumbled upon Then Burger restaurant while checking out the west side. Every time I tell somebody about this place, they ask, “What burger?” The name is different.
Restaurant is located just east of Westgate in Glendale, Arizona. Very classy joint. Their menu focuses on what works… high quality burgers. This is not a fast food spot. And these are not average burgers.
The prices are going to be a bit higher than you would normally pay for burgers. Interior lighting at the tables is “low light,” which automatically means you will pay date night prices.

The dining room has unique character, like taxidermy everywhere and even an art print of the last supper with a burger centered on the table. The hostess sat us down and I noticed someone had left behind a really fancy leather day planner.
As I looked around at the other tables, I could see that they each had the same leather “book,” which is actually their alcohol menu. Again, expect to see complete originality at Then Burger.
Depicted in photo and video are the following:
Drugstore Burger – American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Bread & Butter Chips, House Sauce
Pimento Bacon & Jalapeno – Pimento Cheese, House Bacon, House Pickled Jalapeno, Crispy Onion, Garlic Aioli
Poutine Fries (Upgrade) – Fries, Brown Gravy, Cheese
Peanut Butter Chocolate Bread Pudding – Served with ice cream and a chocolate ganache
Homemade Dipping Sauces – House Sauce, Lemon Aioli, Garlic Aioli, and Chipotle Aioli
Everything I ate was as good as it gets. The brown gravy on the poutine fries might have been a tad salty for my preference. But still great.
The pimento cheese burger was as good as it looks. I really like their meat blend used for the burger patties. On the menu, you will notice two prices next to each burger entree. The lower price represents a 1/3 lb patty. Higher price represents 2/3 lb.
The array of sauces stood out. They are included with your meal. As stated, everything at Then Burger is elevated.
You will not see ketchup or other bottled condiments oriented on the far end of any table. Here, they make their own stuff. I would describe the “house sauce” as their version of ketchup; maybe a little better than ketchup. The other sauces were of course flavorful and had wide-ranging utility for food pairings.
Now, moving on to the peanut butter chocolate bread pudding. Presentation, great… but the “bread pudding” essentially tasted like a brownie with a hint of peanut butter. I liked the attempt at creativity, however. But it probably would have been better to serve a standard bread pudding.
Without question, Then Burger is one of the best dining experiences in the valley. Give this one a shot because it is definitely #JustinLeonardApproved
