Birdcall Restaurant Review

I spotted Birdcall in Scottsdale while visiting another nearby chicken restaurant. It is a growing chain. Surprisingly, there are two other prominent chicken restaurants in the same area.

The exterior building design is 10 out of 10 stars. It doesn’t look like a typical chicken restaurant. In fact, I had to look it up when I drove by to see what it was.

Entering the restaurant for the first time felt like walking into a Starbucks. The interior layout just seems too nice to be… essentially another chicken sandwich shop.

“I mean… everywhere you look, everywhere you go…”

But it’s very high-end and the owner told me they emphasize customer service, which really shined when I was there (even though I only really care about the food).

The ordering is primarily done on a kiosk. It was a bit weird because the kiosk prompts you to enter your credit card info as the first step. You cannot access the menu until a credit card is entered. Yikes!

If you do not like modern technology, they will take your order at the counter. But given its positioning when you first walk in, there is a big emphasis on kiosk ordering.

Alcohol is on the menu at Birdcall. There is a small bar at the front counter area where the kiosks are located. Restaurants with bars will almost always have the “no gun” sign on the wall.

Although during my visit, I did not see the “no firearm” sign posted anywhere at the front entrance. Always better to have it on the front door so that it is visible from a distance (before you get inside).

There is a digital display board that lets you know when your order is ready. Once the food is done, it is placed on a partitioned shelf [similar to what they do for DoorDash drivers] and you retrieve it yourself.

I do not recall the name of the first chicken sandwich I tried, but it was a special/temporary menu item containing chicken + brisket, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce. Good.

Next, I tried the original chicken sandwich, which had a flavor profile similar to Chic-Fil-A. For the side, I chose the salad (romaine and kale mix).

The deluxe chicken sandwich looked better than the photos. The “deluxe” consists of all-natural chicken, bacon, pepper jack cheese, tomato, lettuce, buttermilk herb mayo.

For drinks, they went with Tractor Beverage Company, which specializes in organic flavors. This is in line with the “all-natural” Birdcall restaurant theme. I tried the coconut flavor. Good. The other fountain drinks were Coke products. Everything was reasonably priced, given the quality of the food.

Definitely add Birdcall to your list of restaurants to try. It is #JustinLeonardApproved
