Daddy’s Chicken Shack Review
Recently, there have been a number of chicken-themed restaurants poppin’ up. For years, Chic-Fil-A had almost no competition in the chicken sandwich space. That has changed.
Daddy’s Chicken Shack is one of the latest players to arrive in the valley. Many locations are planned, but this store is located near Scottsdale and Shea Blvd.
This is a fast-casual joint that sits in a building which was previously occupied by Macayo’s. The same block is also home to two other competitors: Raising Canes and Birdcall.
Out of all the chicken-themed restaurants, I would have to say that Daddy’s Chicken Shack is most comparable to Birdcall. The food quality is high, and you can choose as many as 10 sauces to enhance the flavors.
These are not standard sauces. Some are far more sophisticated than one might expect. For example, they have chive sour cream, ginger mayo, and remoulade.
The star of the show is the “pressure cooked” chicken, which produces a more tender and juicier chicken. You will taste the difference, trust me.
It is also brined overnight in buttermilk. So, you know they aint goofin’ off. Daddy’s Chicken Shack offers both fried and grilled options.
The tenders were supreme in the Nashville Finger Meal. They had the slight sweetness that should always accompany real Nashville hot chicken.
You can choose from five levels of heat. I wish the tenders had a tad more salt. But I think overall, they paired really well with the two sauces I chose, which were ranch and spicy mayo.
If you decide to try a chicken sandwich, you will be delighted to know that they use a full breast. If you are tired of all the annoying three-tender sandwiches out there, that seem to fall out whenever you try to eat it… come to Daddy’s Chicken Shack.
The meals are generally served with seasoned fries, which are good ol’ supply chain fries that have been proven to sell.
If you want something better, Daddy’s Loaded Fries include sambal (Indonesian chili sauce), cheese, bacon, and scallions. Side salads are also available.
For drinks, they serve Coke products.
Like I said, man… this is an elevated dining experience and Daddy’s has tapped into something that has a world of potential. They are essentially filling a void by bringing variety to chicken sandwiches.
Everything you wish Canes or Chic-Fil-A did, Daddy’s might be the answer, Sway… No doubt, I had to hit ’em with the green ticket. Daddy’s Chicken Shack is Justin Leonard Approved!
