Florencia Pizza Bistro Review (Ahwatukee)

If you are searching for really good pizza, then try Florencia Pizza Bistro. The restaurant is located in Phoenix (Ahwatukee Foothills) and is definitely a step up when it comes to pizza.

They offer a full service dining experience with a wait staff, bar, and patio. Like many establishments, I was able to seat myself upon entering.

The menu mostly consists of pizzas. They are separated by sauce/base. You can choose traditional [pizza sauce], ranch, olive oil, or pesto. Great idea. You will not find pasta on the menu.

For starters, they offer everything from pesto garlic bread to classic bruschetta. By the way, Florencia Pizza Bistro has nine salads on the menu.

I went with a small “Mista” salad, which consists of field greens, tomatoes, walnuts, crumbled feta cheese, and homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Solid.

I also got the “Zesty Meatballs,” which is your choice of three, five, or seven meatballs topped with melted mozzarella and marinara. Very good.

For the pizza, I choose the “traditional” with sausage and pepperoni. An interesting side note: They offer more than 40 toppings.

Florencia aint no joke, my man. These guys make a mean pizza. The crust was top tier. It’s definitely one of the better pizzas out there.

I would describe the consistency as a cross between Neapolitan (the primitive wood-fired oven stuff) and New York style where the crust is fairly thin, except for the rim.

It is not the type of pizza that stays horizontal when you hold it up. It’s not Papa Johns. This one will droop down if you hold it one-handed.

This is typical of many crusts made from high gluten flour. So, you have to fold it like a New York slice or eat it with a fork and knife.

They offer Coke products. The pricing was reasonable, given the quality. Everything I ate was Justin Leonard Approved.

On my next visit, I plan to order a “ranch” or “olive oil” pizza just to try something different. But I highly recommend the classy Florencia Pizza Bistro because they simply do things better, and you can taste the difference. Peace
